gives more flotation and there for more lift to the rear of the boat causing it to draft less at the rear of the boat, pods were great for outboards and even help for longtails but pods are not good at all for SD's the simply interupt the water to much to be efficiant with SD's. |

the pro drives' skeg is signifigantly shorter than most of the others(i.e. gator tail,mud buddy, go devil) and there for in your situation you are correct. But, if the person posting the original question isnt running a pro drive on a boat with external pods he will experiance performance issues. I speak first hand experiance i put pods on the back of my old rig for about 3 rides and lost 4 mph in all conditions as well as loaded or unloaded. |
