 reversed strakes ???
Here is a question for the boat builders out there. What are your thoughts on reversed or inverted strakes? It would add strength, help control sliding, and maintain a smooth bottom for sliding on mud or over logs. It seems though, that if it were all pros and no cons, everyone would be building boats like that. That's just not the case. What am I missing?

 reversed strakes ???
Added cost, strakes have to be crimped into bottom, additional strength not really needed with long. runners, increased surface area to create drag, .....
I'm no builder, but these could be some of the reasons.

 Re: reversed strakes ???
What he said plus:
It may cause a water disturbance to the prop It would be a PITA to cut the transom out for that It would still hang you up on stumps It would lose several inches of the aluminum sheet that they need to make the sides with.
