I have a 16x50 flatbottom allweld with 30" float pods with a 35hp godevil that I just got the motor on and I ran it out at the local lake...The boat is completely stripped down...I had a single battery and the gas tank both in the back for now...my self driving and a buddy at the frOnt and the boat was plowing water bad... I know I need to put more weight up front to help but are there any other ideas and what kind of speeds would y'all guess I would be getting??? |

You are going to want to put your buddy to the back of the boat. Along with battery and tank. It is likely plowing because there is too much weight in the front of the boat. Now assuming your motor is a surface drive you should probably expect speeds in the mid 20's assuming you have your load balanced properly. |

Longtail or SD? Alot of wieght up front will make it plow, but more than likely your problem is those big ass pods making it run too flat and plow. MM+Pods= No bueno |

That's not plowing, that's called not being able to get on plane. How many rpm's was the motor turning? Has this motor been run on this boat before? |

I have the float pods on a Beavertail boat with a 31 hp surface drive and by myself I can get to 21mph and with someone else in the boat or any load i can only go about 15 I didnt want to beleive it at first but the pods seem to slow you down. |

Boat is also tunnel hull...does the tunnel hull have to do with the performance... So cut pods off and that would help extremely |

Pods and tunnel hull....both elements that will kill the performance of a surface drive motor. That boat sounds like it is set up perfect for an outboard or jet. Best thing to do would be to sell one or the other and get the right set up. |

Yes, but you're better off selling & replacing it. |
