 New 1854 Gator-Tail pointed bow
Here is my new rig. Kyle just sent me pictures. It is headed up to Camo-Designs next week.
As soon as it gets painted and I pick it up and get it in the water, I will get a full review up. Now I just hope that damn powerstroke will run long enough to get me down and back.
The GT team did some non-standard stuff for me and I think I am going to like the way it turned out. Pointed Bow, short deck with hatch (for lifejackets and stuff) rear overhang for battery, fuel tank, onboard charger, offset seat bases in the floor, blind mounting tabs, etc.

Re: New 1854 Gator-Tail pointed bow
No, I provided the trailer. I was working on a tight budget so I shopped until I found the trailer dirt cheap. I've still got to put some guideons on when I get it home.
Again to save $, I found the motor "used". It is an 08' model with 17 hours that I feel like I did pretty good on. I would have loved to buy a complete rig used but everything I found was going to require too much work to make it "exactly" what I wanted- by the time I did that it wasnt going to save me any money.
I've got my order in for GT's new trim controls and the transport strap like on DDM's new rig. Hopefully I can get my hands on those when I go pick the boat up. I am guessing that the motor will be headed back to GT within a year or so to get some mods with the $ I didnt spend on the other things!

Re: New 1854 Gator-Tail pointed bow
It has a little more shape to it than the unpainted pictures made it look like. It doesnt have that "coonass special/dutch-shoe" rise like the Aucoin hulls but I am happy with it. The GT team seems to do very good work. I havent got it in the water yet and will post a real review as soon as I do.
Here are some new pics with paint and with my HT install underway. Tim Boudreaux at CamoDesigns rocked out on this paint job. I am very happy with their work and they did it in 3 days once they got the hull.

Awesome looking rig! I like the layout plus the deck. What is on that electrical panel?

Re: New 1854 Gator-Tail pointed bow
Just an update.
I have finished all my projects on the rig for the time being.
Hydroturf, trailer guide ons, wiring the onboard charger to charge both batteries, added batt and tray under the deck, wired up the front lights, added a 12v outlet for the hardhat light, added some of the MB gunnel mounted decoy bags (I know, I know but they are pretty nice), NAPA fuel/water seperator, etc. I will add the blind soon and then ride it until I break something and have an excuse to get the mods. Hoyt? EVT? Hoyt? EVT?
In the mean time, I've put a few hours on my rig. On its second trip, I took my wife, dog, and both sons along with associated gear (sunscreen, folding chairs, towels, lunch, sandtoys, juice, etc- you know, the essentials) and comfortably ran 24.5 upstream and 27 down- all in deep water.
Sunday, I took it out with just me and my son, tools, 2 batteries, fuel, etc. I bumped the out-of-water RPM's up to 4200 (from 3900) and got it up to 28.4 mph in deep water. I am confident that I can lighten the load and find some shallow water and definitely break 29 and maybe approach 30. Not too shabby for a bone stock motor!
Let me say, all the rednecks I've encountered in West TN are impressed by this glorified and camo'd lawn mower engine.

Re: New 1854 Gator-Tail pointed bow
So what are the advantages/disads of this shape bow vs. a normal flat bow?
