Can you post the pics of your homemade blind frame, on this site? I was trying to view them off of the old site. I could still access all the old topics but your pics aren't there anymore. Thanks.

Very functional design Poker. I used it to build mine last year. I added marsh grass to mine and it worked great. Thanks.

Frame looks great. Where do you get the hardware for the ends of the conduit. I would like to try to build one for my new boat.

Thanks

3/4" conduit and 7/8" bimini hardware. You will need to slightly ream out the holes in the hardware. I used a Dremel. Doesn't take but a couple seconds per piece. Using a cutter I just run it around inside the hole a couple times and its snug on the conduit. Any decent boat store should have the bimini hardware.

that's awesome! did you get all that hardware at the boat shop? what about the straps? reeve's marine or where? (im in shreveport). Dumb question: how do you bend the conduit, do you have to heat it? thanks!

Reeves has the hardware. Use a conduit bender. To splice 2 pieces together I put a 2' piece of 1/2" conduit inside the 3/4" and the welded the 3/4" joint, tying it in with the 1/2" at the same time for strength. Straps w/buckles came from Academy along with the tarp for a wind break. Camo systems netting over that. I don't hunt out of a blind unless I just have to. But its there at a moments notice if needed and matched to the surroundings by adding limbs or local veggies. Its lightweight and removes with just 4 screws in the frame and 4 screws for the straps. After removing the bungie balls you just grab either the front or rear cross strap, pull up the sides and buckle the straps. Then do the other end and hook the 4 bungies for the flips. Takes me less than 5 minutes to get set up by myself. The bungie balls take up most of the time.

The dog sits up there but is concealed by the netting for the most part when hunting.

Post Re: Poker1
I built mine off Pokers, but had to adapt it to my hull......

This is what it looks like when ya get back from Home depot....
Image

Starting the build.....
Image
Image

With the top bars temp raised.....
Image
Image
Image
Image

I didn't like the top being that high, so I cut em down some......
Image
Image
Image

Then added 1 inch webbing to the frame work......
Image
Image
Image

For wind and rain protection, for some 600 codura on Ebay......
Image

Then got some camo netting from Ebay......
Image

I used some double sided tape to hold the wind blocker in place while I zip tied it to the frame......
Image
Image
Image
Image

I then added the camp netting, being sure it ran past the water line, after it was on, trimed off the excess....
Image
Image
Image
Image

Went to a local craft store and bout raffia grass and some Rity liquid dye and dyed it.......
Image

Once it was dry, zip tied some to the netting.......
Image
Image
Image

Took more dyed raffia grass, and zip tied it to cloths pens to add more and adjust colors.....
Image
Image

Also made a motor cover bout the same way using left overs.....
Image
Image

And here's what it looks like when you're dun......
Image
Image

One more with the blind down for travelin......
Image

I take it off during the summer, two bolts on each side, and hang it on the back of my shop!

Yea, now that I've added the trim to mine, may have to chang it some, but don't think so. Bemini hardware can be found at most boating centers, just make sure you get the 7/8!

Yeah I used the 7/8" chrome fittings b/c I couldnt find the black one's last year. It was a MF to dremel those fittings out. Hey that 600 cordora that you have is it heavy when it gets wet? I'm asking b/c I bought some 1000 cordora and its pretty thick, when it gets wet it weighs a ton....I'm going to get something thinner for this season..

Great looking blinds poker and Mudhole. Wondering if you guys kept track of what you have into them and approximate time to build? I'm looking to buy but I really like these designs, never thought of the bimni cover fittings, that pure Jeanious! 8-) . I'm certainly not afraid to build shit infact I rather enjoy it but time if of limited quanity these days with a new addition.

Thanks

10' welded. Take a 2' piece of 1/2" and slide it in the 3/4" the stiffen the joint and weld it all together catching the 1/2" in the weld too.

Poker the blinds that I have built lately have a 10' piece of 1/2" in the 3/4", it really makes them stiff. Then its welded at the joint.

No it's not those joints aren't heavy but it adds extra support for rainy days. When the grass or whatever camo you have on the frame gets wet it adds more weight to the frame and makes it bend. with the 1/2" inside it makes it much stronger!!!
