Can you post the pics of your homemade blind frame, on this site? I was trying to view them off of the old site. I could still access all the old topics but your pics aren't there anymore. Thanks.

Very functional design Poker. I used it to build mine last year. I added marsh grass to mine and it worked great. Thanks.

Frame looks great. Where do you get the hardware for the ends of the conduit. I would like to try to build one for my new boat.

Thanks

Awesome rig and blind! That's pretty much exactly what I'm going for my setup.
-Poker1:
Do you leave your dog outside the blind when hunting out of your boat blind? Does the dog flare ducks?
I just moved to LA from West Central IL and have always hunted out of built blinds-boat blind hunting will be a first.

The dog sits up there but is concealed by the netting for the most part when hunting.

Post subject:  Re: Poker1

I built mine off Pokers, but had to adapt it to my hull......

This is what it looks like when ya get back from Home depot....

Starting the build.....

With the top bars temp raised.....

I didn't like the top being that high, so I cut em down some......

Then added 1 inch webbing to the frame work......

For wind and rain protection, for some 600 codura on Ebay......

Then got some camo netting from Ebay......

I used some double sided tape to hold the wind blocker in place while I zip tied it to the frame......

I then added the camp netting, being sure it ran past the water line, after it was on, trimed off the excess....

Went to a local craft store and bout raffia grass and some Rity liquid dye and dyed it.......

Once it was dry, zip tied some to the netting.......

Took more dyed raffia grass, and zip tied it to cloths pens to add more and adjust colors.....

Also made a motor cover bout the same way using left overs.....

And here's what it looks like when you're dun......

One more with the blind down for travelin......

I take it off during the summer, two bolts on each side, and hang it on the back of my shop!

nice job mud I used that those pictures last year and built one for my boat, but the only problem is that i have hyd. T&T and it doesnt work to well with that so i'm going to do some mods to the blind. Its going to look like poker's in the back and yours in the front. Thanks for the pictures guys they really helped out. Oh where did ya'll find those black bimini fittings? I looked all over Morgan City and couldn't find them???

Post subject:  Re: Poker1

Yea, now that I've added the trim to mine, may have to chang it some, but don't think so. Bemini hardware can be found at most boating centers, just make sure you get the 7/8!

I'm looking to buy but I really like these designs, never thought of the bimni cover fittings, that pure Jeanious! 8-) . I'm certainly not afraid to build shit infact I rather enjoy it but time if of limited quanity these days with a new addition.

Thanks

I have a local marine apolstry shop that has fair prices on them. I looked online for them but all I could find was sites that were double the price.

That's a little overkill isn't it? Sounds like unneeded extra weight

Author:  LA OUTLAW [ Tue Nov 17, 2009 11:38 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Poker1

No it's not those joints aren't heavy but it adds extra support for rainy days. When the grass or whatever camo you have on the frame gets wet it adds more weight to the frame and makes it bend. with the 1/2" inside it makes it much stronger!!!

Did you guy use rivets or screws to attach the mounts to the boat?

Stainless screws into the top cap of the gunnels.
