 Boat mods
Transom on the 1442 Alumacraft could not handle my mud motor so I reinforced it as shown and added homemade trim tabs. Works great. It’s like building pods inward.
1. 6” aluminum I beam cut 45 degrees bolted inward 2. Trim tabs - SS scrap bent 10”x12” bolted & 5200 rear transom 3. Cross bracing 1”x4” aluminum This whole setup cost me about $80 including labor. Got the I beams from a local trailer shop for $ 20. (scrap) and the welder had scrap all over the place so it worked out great.

 Re: Boat mods
Absolutely helped. Transom was digging in and slowing boat. Trim tab solved the problem and gained about 5 mph.
