Post Boat mods
Transom on the 1442 Alumacraft could not handle my mud motor so I reinforced it as shown and added homemade trim tabs. Works great. It’s like building pods inward.

1. 6” aluminum I beam cut 45 degrees bolted inward
2. Trim tabs - SS scrap bent 10”x12” bolted & 5200 rear transom
3. Cross bracing 1”x4” aluminum
This whole setup cost me about $80 including labor. Got the I beams from a local trailer shop for $ 20. (scrap) and the welder had scrap all over the place so it worked out great.

Absolutely helped. Transom was digging in and slowing boat. Trim tab solved the problem and gained about 5 mph.
