Has anyone used the foam flooring mats that Lowes and HD sells as a cheaper option than Hydro turf?

My input on this subject would be to just spend the money and get the hydro turf. Many people who tried alternatives seemed to end up with hydro turf after learning a lesson or two

Buy the molded diamond hydroturf and be done with it.

We have used the grey interlocking mats from harbor freight. They do work they don't absorb water or smell. I will say it doesn't fit as well as hydro turf you will have more seams. More seams are what causes problems. You get what ya pay for but they will work I use the same glue that you put the hydro down with. On my new boat I went hydro but inside my boxes I'm using the grey mats.

I bought the gray diamond cut hydro turf seconds. 40 bucks a sheet, and is something can hold up to me it's tough. Those mats seem to dry rot easy.

same material as hydroturf just dont have it in the different grooves. you can get them in grey all the time but if you call sometimes they have black, brown, green. for a 1/4inch thick 40x80 sheet of eva foam they want 24 bucks. same stuff as hydroturf.

I just picked up two Best-Step anti-fatigue mats from Sears. They come in a 46X93 size for $24.99. It seems to be the same material as Hydro-turf and slightly thicker than the B-Grade molded diamond they sell. Winter is here, so I will have to wait till spring to see how it compares.

I got some of it too. Caught it on sale for 19.99 a roll the other day. Probably gonna put it on during the split.

Just saw it in Academy also.

Bubba, it's super light. 2 rolls weigh about 1-2 lbs.

Just did my front deck a few weeks ago w/ the Sears stuff, it gets used bad and is great so far. SAME MATERIAL!!!!! $20 if you order online and click "in store pickup" per roll. Do FOUR boats for the price of ONE! unless you just gotta have purty colors

Post subject:  Re: Hydroturf Alternative

Yes, glue the floor and the material. Let both dry. Be super careful when you go to place it, it's STUCK on contact.

Post subject:  Re: Hydroturf Alternative

Cover both sides, let it dry, then stick it down. Once its stuck, IT'S STUCK. Instructions are simple, but make sure you follow them.

Great... Sounds like its a perfect opportunity for me to jack something else up. I'll try what you said and hopefully it wont be a soup sandwich. Thanks for the heads up!
