Post brother breaux outboard build
brother is almost done with my 19x60 mod. vee bateau. 3\16 bottom, center console. gonna use for bear hunting with dogs and fishing in sounds and rivers of eastern north carolina. gets shallow in few places with sand and some oyster rock but can get around good if up on plane and stay in channels. i know its been discussed before and i have searched around but should i go with HYDRAULIC JACK PLATE ? i have had them on fiberglass boats with tunnells and performed well. this boat will not have tunnell. expertise and thoughts on jack plates appreciated . thanks, swampfox

i have had a bobs with a 115hp and ran her like i didnt have a dime in it for 4 years. sold it to a buddy and he is still running her with no probs. my question though, do i need it or is it waste of cash for expected performance?
thanks swampfox

will the hull have a pad?

i say yes for in the skinny water...

if it has a pad it will help with bow lift and handling
