is there a way to check the year of a motor and the hp of it. The guy is unsure of year and hp of the motor. is there a place that i can look for a serical number or id code any help would be much apricated |

Should be a plate on motor that has all info needed. They're in different locations on different motors tho |

On Briggs it on the head the last ones (i think it says code above it) is the bliuld date. Thats where it is on my 23hp |

The 35 used to be by the oil filter, now its stamped into the #2 rocker arm cover. |

thanks for your help. The guy i bought the motor from told me it was a 27 but after looking its a 31 looks like taking the gamble worked out this time!!! |
