Hey guys I'm looking in to buying a set up to get in these swamps in. I'm new to all this and don't really know anything other than what I've been told. But this is what I'm thinking of.
I was told that Pro Drive and Gator Tails are the best and only candy azz queers drive Mud Buddy's. I ain't no punk bytch so I ain't getting no Mud Buddy. My question is this will Gator Tail and Pro Drive let me demo a motor so I can compare the 2 before making a decission.

Amos

Never owned the PD or GT - but I can tell you as they follow my GDSD
the PD is the first to struggle to keep up and they can both back away
from the tough spots well....

Just teasin...

Each has assets the other does not have...
Test drive them all - post your area and see if someone will
give you a ride in their rig...

You ain't been here long...

Search the Wallisville thread with 2000 views to see if I'm on a fence....

If you like to mechanic like a pit crew --- the PD and GT are for you...

If you like to run for hundreds of hours with no mechanical issues - get
yerself a GoDevil surface drive....

You worked yours over BEFORE you mounted it --- Tool Master

I ain't into mods or mechanicin --- just cruisin
Both my 27 GDSD and 35 GDSD break 30mph stock

There's a reason you don't see dozens of threads on fixin the GDSD
it don't break down....

But if mechanicin is yer thing ???? Get the PD or GT...

Mine is still under warranty and except for an oil change
it won't see any wrenches for another few hundred hours...

But you and your pit crew will be greasy the day after every run - I am bettin...

And if that makes you happy - great...

Do you really wanna talk about an aluminum frame with a steel shaft ???

Or why GT shortened their shaft due to failures ???

Or why you had to replace your lower frame assembly on your old motor ???

Or electrical circuits and failed clutches ???

Or trim failures ???

Or tiller torque ???

Never mind....

Giga, you are truly a tard.

Amos, you are on the right road to being a happy mud motor owner. Keep your sights on Gator tail & Pro-Drive cause they are the best. Which ever one you choose, you won't be disappointed. Whatever you do, don't listen to GigaTard and you will be just fine.

P.S. He also logs in under the screen name TexasProud.

Amos

Just be sure to get the matching hull from whichever MFG you
choose.... The motor is only half of the magic a mud rig is capable of,,,,

These MFGs have ALL done a lot of work in optomizing their motor design with their hull...

I have tried but Giga you are a forking arsehole,I've got 2 GDSD's next door to me that have both had issues with that bad ass frame, broke shaft under 80 hours blamed it on the owner total bull shit, forked up quick trim that keeps bending,cracked/broken welds and thats just the two motors that I know of.

You want to talk about ease of operation with motors that do not even have neutral, they are notrious for busting legs and shins.I've ran 3 differant gdsd's on 3 differant hulls and although its just my opinion they suck compared to other SD's in ease of operation.

These motors are put in extremely harsh conditions on purpose, everything will break, unless you just keep your boat on step and pass people by that could use a hand.Around these parts thats not what MEN do,you forking bitch.

And did I mention go fork yourself you stupid nutless fork.
Thats all.

I'm not going to knock any brand, nor promote any; but I'm not sure whats to talk about. Aluminum tensil yeilds are pretty staggering considering its weight. Comparing it to steel is apples to oranges; ever consider why airplanes aren't made of steel :?: or outboard lower units :?: or the frame of your engine block on your mud motor :?: :?:
Nothing personal but just food for thought :!:
