Post Re: Looking for houseboat
slayer, where are you located. I posted a while back some pics of my houseboat. I also notified a few on here that were looking to build about my tanks that i used. Now you don't have to get stupid big but if you on a budget, could be an option. I used condemened propane tanks. Now mine are 18' long and 42" in diameter. i have 4. I bought these things for about $200 -$250 each. there 3/8" thick. Thats a foundation thats not going anywhere in my lifetime. the place i got them from had several different sizes so you don't need to go totally big with the tanks. I bought mine several years back but only recently started to do the build.

By the time 2 pontoons are purchased, and the iron to hold them together, your at 1k. Then you need a floor. $5k is tuff.

PP store has 2X3 and 2X2 in 16 foot lengths. I think around 200 bucks for 2X2 and 300 for 2X3.

You misunderstood. They are not that much. Unless they tripled in price in 3 years.
