1846 with huntdeck

Post subject:  Re: 1746 boats

the hunt deck will also help balance the boat better because it pushes the driver up more off the transom.

18 is better for load carrying but 17 is faster light.

Have a 1746 GT boat right now (rear hunt deck and front storage hatch) and about 2 hours ago had 3 people (all around 180-200 lbs) 3 layout blinds, full tank in front, battery in rear, rear seat box, 2 dz deeks, other essentials and was running 25 mph in deep water with a brand new engine. Never been run before today.

The 1846 GT hull will outperform any other.

Until recently, I had an 1648 GDSD (tapered) hull.

It cannot be compared to the GT hull.

Post subject:  Re: 1746 boats

for the 46 wide to perform well with a Surface drive you don't want to go round chine.

If you don't go square chine (best peformer) then I might go double tapered chine or single chine. The boat is not very wide so it doesn't take much for it to turn even being square chine.

Post subject:  Re: 1746 boats

1646 or 1554 Extreme are the top performers for the 25. If you plan to carry a big load with it, 1840 for weight displacement.
