Post For those with GatorHides
I have an 1854 PD with extended front deck and high transom and high sides. I have a pop up blind on the boat and hunt strictly from the boat. I was thinking of fabricating a deck I can drop in to hunt 'layout style'. But was concerned about sitting on my lower back and legs for long periods.

I am asking for those that hunt this way, if you could tell me what you don't like about it, or what you wish you could change about layout style or the 'Hide'.

I just used ply wood and paint with shaggy material on top and sit in boat seats with the reclining backs that way if you do get uncomfortable you can change your position. I used electrical conduate for my doors and they worked great. If I can pull it of with a 44 wide hull I am sure you can do it with a 54 wide hull and be very comfortable.
