Post subject:  Another boat paint question

figured i would slap a coat of paint on the rig to fit in with everyone else. My question is not the prep work but what kind of spray do you guys use? I am asking because i got my hands on one of those nice sprayers to stain my fence and deck, and says it will spray some paint good too. However i haven't used it yet and wanted to get some opinions first.

So what kind of sprayers to you guys use if you use any at all? Would rather not use 50-11 spray cans for my boat

Any sprayer will work. Just gonna have to play with the thinning ratio's and air mixture.

even one of those electric type sprayers?

Hope so really can't get a bigger air compressor at the moment, my little one won't handle a sprayer.

I would think. Mix it thin and apply a few coats. Spay it on something else 1st to sample it.

I painted my boat with a Roller and Paint Brush. The only prep work was spraying it down with Alum. Bright.
The Type of Paid is a Duralux Duck Boat Green. It is for Alum.

Step One
Bring ya boat to car wash and clean it. The degreaser works good first

Step Two
Spray the shit out of your boat with Alum. Bright.. This will etch the Alum
Let this sit for about 5 minutes

Step three
spray boat down with water hose

Step four
once boat is dry.. Painted it up... the paint cost about $35 gallon. I used less than a gallon.

* The paint job you see in my picture is over three months old.. I abuse the sht out of it, and it holds up..

When you paint the floor, and deck of your boat, be sure to mix some grip into your paint. It only cost around $4.00 for the container. It has a orange lid, and white pale. Make sure to mix it good into your paint... Then just roll it on like you would any other paint.. GOOD LUCK.

* I did this after painting the whole boat. So, I have two coats on floor and decks.

Posting pictures is childsplay....Get a photobucket account, upload all of your pictures into it. Then when ever your ready to post a picture on MMT copy the IMG Code at the bottom of the picture you want to post and paste it in the subject body of your message..ITS THAT SIMPLE!!  Oh and when you do it this way you dont have pictures so small you cant see them...
