Well the paint is worn off the bottom of the Hide so I was looking at something like Frog Spit to put on the bottom. Looking for ideas/ options????

super slick stuff, i think u would like it if thats what you are going for. that or steel flex. only downside is ur gonna have to reapply every few seasons.

Is frog spit easy to remove for reapplication?

Just don't unhook the boat till it is in the water....

Steelflex is good stuff....I run in the same areas deadbird. Mine held up pretty good in the two years I had it. It had some spots that were starting to flake, but I think I could have easily gotten another 12-18 months out of it.

It is is slick as snot..

call Hoyt and get him to bolt some teflon on for you. then you wont have to wory about anything penitrating your hull.

The only slight downside is for the guys only looking for speed. the teflon will have small indentions where the fasteners go through.

If you want to make your hull last a lifetime call Hoyt.

FYI..its the same as on an airboat.

I have it on my boat, and like it so far. Only have a few hrs on it.

I purposly took it over some nasty stuff, tpost, stumps, rocks, and it didnt even slow me down.

This is what my bottom looks like after Hoyt hooked me up. Like I said before it’s like what’s on an airboat. For the guys running soft mud bottoms it might not be necessary but us guys running lots of stumps, and rocks it’s a must. At Caddo you are running in areas where Tpost are prevalent and lots of concrete. I hit both and never slowed down. You can see that it did scratch the bottom a little, but it help up lots better than my original bottom did. For you that never saw the pictures……my bottom was worse than Deadbirds after the first trip out. Before I have the 3/16 plat and Teflon put on I have 3 nice ¼ to ½” tunnels from the bow to stern.

They fasten it to you hull with stainless steel machine head bolts. They drill at tap every bolt hole before they torque the bolts down with lock nuts.

I'm sure da teflon is da shiat. But I just can't convience myself to purposely put holes in da bottom of my boat.

If they have done it for years on airboats its got to work for atleast a few hrs......LOl better than most modded motors

do you know about how much weight that added? will that help with keeping dents out your boat from runnin stumps? my last PD boat was mangled from stumps. the boat im about to have built will have 3/16ths bottom and 2x2 longitudes but i dont know if that will be enough

I dont think it will keep a normal production boat from getting some dents but it will definitely keep all the major one out.

If you are going 3/16 and want to make it last years get somethin on that bottom before you take it out. The UHMW is nice but its not very thick and is mostly for less resistance going over objects.

I guess that i added 75-100 lbs to my 2054 and Hoyt guessed about 75. I have noticed that MY rig dosnt notice much differance between light load 800 lb to 2000 lbs so i dont think a added 100 lbs evenly dispaced over the full length of a boat is even noticable..

If it was 100 lbs on one side or in one spot it would deff. be noticable but not when it spread out.

Also not that the bottom is not completely flat due to the bolts depressing the teflon slightly. but for a guy wanting a boat to use this wont be noticable.

So what is the difference in the Teflon and the UHMW poly? Seems like more people would opt for the epoxy and vacuum bag installation over the rivets

James, I would be curious to know how well it would push off a sand bar if you were to stick it on one???? Most of what I run is hard, sandy bottom. And when I stick that 2054, it ain't alot of fun gettin it back to water......

dry docked it friday morning at he boat ramp. didnt want to try it is BFE incase i couldn't get it off....lol

It was grass and rock with hrd sand at at the waters edge. only bad thin is the grass was wet from the wash of the boat so it wasnt truly dry docked. the wotor was about 6in from waters edge so from front of boat i had to push about 15 ft to get boat floating. I got her off with my dog 4 dz teal deeks and 7 gallons gas plus hunting crap all by my myself.

Dont think i could do it for 30 ft but i know that i can always take the crap out of the boat and push it off if need be.

one of these days us ET boys will finaly get together and we can swap war stories.....lol
