Post what does everyone suggest?
im needing a bigger duck boat, but dont want to go too big was thinking around 14'-16' what width would be good for that length? wanting an open floor plan. heard really good things on here about aucoins but dont know what they offer. has anyone had any experience with SDB? what are some other makers that i may not know about? other than the mass produced, would like a custom

Pat,
Rick Aucoin's screen name is aucion. Last I heard, he is taking a bit of a break of some sort. You can send him or coondik a question. They work across the street from each other.

HOPE THIS HELPS>..

Imo if you get a 14-16' boat, you'll soon wish you had at least an 18'. Been there, done that. The bigger boats don't really cost all that much more. Something to think about anyway.

first you need to share what kind of motor you have now, and what you want to end up with eventually. second, you need to tell how much you want to spend.

right now i run a 6.5 GDLT on a 12x32. looking to hunt 2-3 people with dog. distance isnt really that far to run so im undecided between LT or SD. stability is what im really looking for as well as a shallow draft. would like a thicker hull but dont need a tank, mainly run in marshes. price wise im really not set on a certain amount, but as we all know it dont grow on trees. aleast not around here. im looking at it as an investment instead of a pain like thin riveted boats are.

My 1860 is great. I've hunted out of a 15' and it was tight with 3 people coupled with a dog in the boat lord have mercy! Perhaps if we were more organized but everyone has a gun bag, everyone has a ammo bag with their junk in it... A cooler is usually on the boat and some rods too...

I went with an 18' and went 60 wide. I hunt out of mine and love it!

Here's a link to my review of my rig.

keys I have delt with SDB and from what everyone else says about customer service I would go with someone else before purchasing a boat from them. Some stuff I was done well and with some stuff I think business could have been done better. I know from reading posts on here there are some unsatisfied customers.

Ill be happy to discuss via pm
