I'm considering buying a boat from excel and curious if anybody runs the shallow water basic or the viper with a sd n if they are happy with it and pros n cons of boats?

I did a little bit last night but wasn't really getting much info! Maybe cause I was half asleep! But only thing I really read was that they have more drag I believe is what they call it! Why is it you guys are so against them?

In y'all's opinions who makes best boat? I've done some research on a few n don't understand why some like pro drive would make a boat without any flotation to help save a sinking boat? Not bashing by no means just trying to understand!

Wow that's jacked up stuff! I just read they the first 2!

I bought a used mb sd and it mechanically runs good it's a 24 hp Honda! Had a few issues but I'm getting them lined out I think it seems like!! I've heard that mb has had bad customer service n what little time I've had to deal with them it's not been the best and most reliable service it seems like! But don't have the funds to buy a boat and surface drive after buying a sd already! So for time being I be got to find a hull to work with! Don't need or want all bells n whistles! Pretty open floor plan with maybe a 30"-36" front deck pod steering seat want atleast 16' maybe 17' n between 44"-48" wide. Just want something that's durable but I'm not gonna have to pay 10k n my left nut for!!

Just bought a new 1860 SWVf4 and love it! To be honest the only other boat I looked at was Gator trax and it a hell of a boat as well. I like the stable and safe feel of the excel. It is a little heavier than the others but other than that I love it so far. Talk to me after hunting season and I will let you know.

Go test drive one, then test drive a real mud hull. Report back after the test ride...
