Has anyone done this?

I think it would be a good lightweight solution and I could wash all the mud and the shit to the back a lot easier.
What ya think?

Only problem I could think of is dropping anything small enough to go through the holes in the floor, i.e. small bolts, stuff like that.

I've bow fished off a boat with expanded metal and it sucked. Everything got hung in it. It flex 2 much. Its ugly as hell. The only place expanded metal belongs in the everyday world is BBQ pits.

Terrible for a dog! Could catch a toe/nail and break a bone, uncomfortable on pads, can't glue hydrotruf to, etc.

maybe you could find something more like a perforated sheet with holes or slots cut/punched in it. price would prob be more than a standard sheet but weight would be less..

I did a .100 gauge full welded floor. Can't hardly get any lighter without it flexing when you walk.
