I got to look at it for 2 hours before it went to paint. Such a tease. . . Question: What diameter fuel line for these GTRs? |

By the way, the guy who picked up the boat for me (Judd) has a few certified welders out on his property and they said they'd like to shake the hand of the man who built the boat, and Judd laughed that he had to field quite a few questions at gas stations, restaurants, and rest stops on the way home about the boat. Very appreciative, Jay. And to Luce, Rob, Brent, or Jay: If you can make it down this way, it would be my pleasure to take any of you out fishing in Everglades National Park or the Keys. Mid April through May is the time for tarpon in the Keys. |

Only photo I got of the paint (lots of green for hunting in South Florida.) GatorBase and GatorGlide G2 go on this weekend and then it gets fuel, electrical, and GPS rigging. |

Very nice! What kind of speeds are you getting? Where do you stay in Everglades national park ? I have a place in Chokoloskee. |

I've only run it once solo. It was in DEEP (20+ feet) water in the rim canal on Lake O and I got 27.1. That was me (185), full Engel 35 cooler, battery, safety gear, and six gallons of gas. BAttery was in back with me/cooler and gas was underneath deck; the boat likes weight in the stern and it was picking up a couple mph when the fuel runs low when I had more weight in the boat. Pretty sure I'd get 28 with a few less gallons. Motor only has ten hours on it. That speed was right after the first oil change and I haven't run it since. This is also a short shaft, short transom motor. The guys with long (32") shafts seem to be getting a bit more speed. Two guys (me and another who's about 210), cooler, all safety gear, two guns, four dozen big decoys, two seat pedestals/seats, cooler, battery, and full fuel, I am getting 24.5-25mph. I haven't run it in clean water shallower than 3-4 feet yet. I'm very satisfied with the whole package. There may be a few boats around that are faster with modded 35s but Jay's hull doesn't fall off speed wise with a load. I haven't done it yet but I'm pretty sure I could get three guys out to get out and shoot in waders if we want to and not fall below 23mph. |

Boat is getting faster. Have about 30hrs on it now and had two guys at ~190 each,/four dozen heavy decoys, guns, gear, cooler at 26.5 in shallow hard bottom (18") the other day, and 26.8 by myself with gun/decoys/cooler in 4' of water as well. Will need an exhaust by season's end. Boat and motor run great and have far exceeded expectations. Can't believe what she runs through. |

Responded, BK. No issues with water coming over the transom unless I'm standing on the rear hunt deck and just wailing on it in reverse. Letting off it at WOT isn't a problem at all. Weight-wise I would think the boat could easily handle a 35GTR if it's truly only 30lbs heavier. |
