Just bought a 1988 15' alumaweld all weld boat and trailer with title for $500, just wondering what size surface drive would be good to push this on open water and mudflats, I'm not sure what it weighs but it's heavy, someone has cut the transom from 20" to 16" and not sure what I should do about that, but just wanting to know how much I should start saving for what HP surface drive

nice review of the performance of your new your. This is the review section! you would have to get a short transom motor and you would also be very dissappointed with the performance of this boat and a SD. The short length and V front will FUK you.

None! I had one just like this and it went 8mph and never got on plane with just me in it with a prodrive. Sell it and get another boat or get a longtail.

My triton like that didnt do to bad with my modded 23 sd. But throw any kinda load in and ur fuked. Clean it up and throw a 25 short shaft Tohatsu on it and save the mud motor for a true mud hull. I wish someone would told me that from the start!

True dat!!
