Post more hydroturf questions
I have a couple sheets of HT on the way, and was wondering if those of you with go devil boats are installing the turf over the rivets on the floor..reason I ask is about 1/2 of my floor rivets have popped off and need to be replaced, and I am afraid if I install the HT over the rivets (once I replace the busted ones) I will not be able to identify/replace them if they pop off in the future, which seems to be highly likely..

What do you all think? I am removing the floor anyhow to check the foam and install seat bases anyway...should i install the turf and then rivet the floor in? Any drawbacks to that?

thanks!

I've done two boats...one on ProDrive boat and never had any problems with rivets coming out

Now on phowler boat some rivets have popped out and cant get to them without pulling all hyrdroturf up

RC also advices if you have chance to slice your hull open on rocks or something like that or EVER think you'll need to get under the floor panels then leave the rivets exposed

I shoulda taken that advice this time because now need to get the back peice of my floor up to beat hook out...take advice some give and live and learn from mistakes

I was wondering the same thing when I put mine down.

I think I recall someone saying on the old site something about the rivets melting the hydroturf??

Can you not feel where the rivets are through the HT?

Looks like you could take a piece of tubing and cut a plug out where the rivet is and leave the HT attached to the flooring.

depends on the size of the rivet head

Like on my PD boat you could feel them b/c they had the big heads

on my boat now they used small heads (probably why floor came loose)

Cash dunno where you heard that bout rivets melting HT but how exactly would that happen?

atleast it was like 70 degrees on the way back that day it woulda been HELL freezin over if it wasnt

Going with waves you never get wet at all and water breaks to the sides like magic just hell going into waves/wind

If didnt get wet like that it would be a great boat because it really is so much smoother then rampin and smackin waves with a flat and the day me and crews went across lake if we were in a flat no doubt we would have waves crashin over the bow bout the only thing that saved us that day from bow crash was without a doubt the V and tellin bout it aint nothin like experiencin it like crews said wish we had had a video camera with us that day
