 Re: fastest hull???
simply put.. square tends to be a little faster, slides in turns, Round chine drafts more, a little slower and doesnt slide when turning at high speed.... and then there's tapered chines: Single, double, triple, single being most similar to a round,, and triple being similar to square.

 Re: fastest hull???
^^ triple taper is closer to round. There's 3 bends in the chine.
A single taper is more like a 45 degree vs a 90 degree of a square.

 Re: fastest hull???
STV's are pretty fast. They're tunnel hulls though. Allison XR2001's roll too, they are V bottom pad hulls, kinda a stepped chine design.

 Re: fastest hull???
17-18' 48"-54" bottom, lite as possible. Depending on what and where you hunt, go 1/8" bottom, .100 sides, hat section for ribs. Want to say luceur had a hull made that was all .100 for a GTR25. Thats about as lite as you can go. But if you run any kind od swamp or trees or stumps, you should go 3/16 bottom. Weight has as much to do with the hull design.

 Re: fastest hull???
This is easy..........whatever boat AKAwhatever is in. Just ask him, he'll tell you. Whatever you get, you're gonna have chines of some sort, you just have to decide how you want them shaped.

 Re: fastest hull???
The rake effects top speed also, changes how much surface area you have on the water. You want just enough flat bottom it to get on top like a skim board and not cutting through the water creating drag. The width is a variable in this as well.

 Re: fastest hull???
But, a longer more gradual rake will plane out and run much better

 Re: fastest hull???
Its no prob. there are a list of things that will make a hull faster and set right. most importantly is drying the hull for less drag. Not all hulls are the same i.e. 1646 vs 1646.
