I hunt a minimum of 3 people but alot of the time I hunt 4 and we aren't skinny. Is a dual rig worth the extra money or should I build a 18x54 with a single 35gtr?

18x60 with the stage 2---- what kind of speeds do you get and what kind of load?

I could afford the duals I just haven't had any experience with them and wasn't sure if it was worth the extra money. From my understanding , the duals normally won't drop below 30mph no matter the load correct?

If not 30, damn near.. They carry a load better than any hopped up single. And they get on step quick, fast, and in a hurry. Don't just take my word for it though, Ask around on here and try to line up a ride with someone. Deltaduckmaster is a bowfishin charter captain and has a really nice dual rig that I PROMISE he won't mind showing off to you.

I have An 1854 with a 35 gtr stage 2 and can get on step deep water with 5 adults plus dog and hunting gear which is a lot less expensive than 2 gtrs
If your only running 3 people then a stage 1 would carry it fine but after you get more power the you only want more after that

I run a 20/72 with duals and an 18/58 with a single. For what you do I will would strongly suggest staying with a single. Duals are nice but that's more weight in the back in. I fish 2-4 out of my 18/58 with carb and exhaust it will run 22-26. I think with can and heads I will it will hold 26-28 loaded with four of us. Now on the dual rig its going to run 28+(that's conservative speed with stage one motors and my boat is a barge) with any load you put on it but you got twice the wear and tear on the motors. If you are around me North east Texas I will be glad to take you out in both and let you run them.

I have played with stage 2 and 3 motors for a while. I just can't seen to keep them healthy for more than 200 or so hours. I was running a decked over 20x60 that was good for 27mph with 3 men hard blind dog decoy full hunting load with 14 gals of gas. The reason duals work so well is due to the fact you get 2 1/2 times the torque at only 2 times the weight. more importantly you get 2 times the surface area of prop. I got a buddy who guides out of the big gd blind barge with dual long tails. He got 10+ years before replaceing the motors. He is a little guy about 5'8" and under 180 lbs.He will load that thing down and go just about anywhere. if you realy want to load the rig down and go in shallow water and run mud go with duals .Its the second prop that makes the differance.

I run an 1860 with stage 1. I run 4 guys bowfishing with a generator and loaded down ice chest with no problems keeping it above the 20-22 mph mark in deep water. Mine is a 2009 and I'd hate to keep up with 2 motors the way little shit always happens with the motors as they age.

I got stock duals on a 2072. Has plenty of power and will get that boat places a boat that size has no business bein.
