I am getting ready to order a Gator Tail and wanted to get some feed back first on the difference between the two hulls. Also, would there be a speed difference between a 1654 and 1754? |

After owning many different hulls in my opinion they are worth the extra cost. They do not slide as bad as the standard hull but still does slide. Do not let any one tell you they do not slide. Also speed they are about the same. I do not notice any difference. The hulls you are looking at getting will run the same speed. |

1754 slightly faster with a load. 1654 a little faster empty. I had an extreme which did slide less than a square hull but drafted a little more water as well. |

No difference,Just handles better!It is worth the extra bucks and I would go 17 foot!Good luck |
