I currently have a 1748 pd hull and am shopping to get a 3/16" hull, I just don't know which size yet. I run the hard bottom tight timber so I need to keep the same beam width fo 65". With that said how much less should a 1848 draft? What about a 1850?? |

Draft won't be much different (depends on comparative weights)...should run a little flatter. |

My experience is The bigger the boat the higher it sits in the water generally speaking. Particularly loaded down. Don't have any scientific facts to back it up but my 2054 was real heavy but still drafted real shallow because of the additional surface area in contact with the water. |

It will more than likely draft an inch or two less, maybe more but there are too many unknown factors that can change the draft. Rake length, side flare, where the weight is in the hull, chine type, it all comes into play a little at the time. The advantages of a 1' extra boat go way beyond a little less draft. You wont regret it! I love my 18' hull. I run areas exactly like you and I wouldn't change a thing on my boat. Something I do to take off faster on a hard bottom is get my buddies to sit on the front deck. It will balance the boat out pretty flat and take off a lot quicker. |

I understand the variation so if the boats where identical but one was 1' longer I would draft 1"-2" less right? |
