I figured. I've got a 25 kohler and need a boat to put it on before season. Don't have enough for a new boat, but need something to get me through a season or two. |

How long are your runs in the morning. 2 miles from ramp to hunting grounds at 15mph is 8 minutes. At 30mph its 4 minutes. Your not going to see much of an improvement on a 16ft boat and there is a chance the 18 will run faster than the 16. Wasn't go-devils fastest boat the 18x38. Longer is better than wider with longtails. |

Yeah bbb, that's the boat I want. Not enough $. I was thinking about a 1648 if I could find one, just enough to get through a couple of seasons. Found this 1852 for good price, but needs a little work, no major problems. |

I would buy the boat size I wanted and then move up in motor size at a later date. There's a big difference in an 18' boat vs a 16' boat. A 18' boat easily fits 3 people or 2 people and a dog. A 16' boat will get cramped. A 18x52 and a 25 go devil will probably push around 18 unloaded and 16 loaded. Plenty of speed for short runs. If you buy the 18ft boat, after the season is over, you can sell your 25 and then look for a 31 or 35 longtail. Would only probably have to come $1000 out of pocket. This is the boat I have and the builder put alot of 25's on them and they all run 18-19 unloaded. This boat was also designed to perform best with a mudmotor. Something to consider when buying any size boat. |
