anyone figured out how to lock the front hatch on a PD boat? We have had some problems with people breaking into cars lately, and I want to keep my life jackets in the boat and not in the garage. Just don't want them to get stolen.

I don't really want to put somthing on the deck that will stick up, but haven't had a good idea on how to lock it.

That's pretty shitty that we even have to worry about someone stealing something like a life jacket these days. I hate a fuking crackhead!

Make sure you remember to unlock that hatch before you launch the boat. That would suck pretty bad to need your life jacket cause your sinking and you drown because you were trying to keep a crackhead from stealing your life jacket.

I saw a locking latch at Bass Pro that's supposed to fit that same size hole. It may have been a Perko but I'm not positive.

I bought a ten dollar hasp from lowes. Hasp is very low and doesn't gert snagged on anything. It has two hinges on it so that it can go around corners. It is a master brand, and then I use one of those corrosion proof master locks. I put one on mine for trips when we haft to stay in a motel. I have my life jackets in the front but thats is also were the head unit is for my stereo.

A friend we tournament fish with found a stainless two piece bar that slide's into each other with pre-drilled holes for a pad lock, goes across the whole deck. Basically had a pin on each end that fit into a square base on both side of the front deck. After they stole 3 grand of stuff out of his bass rig at Lake Fork, this was the only he could see would stop em'. They popped the Perko locks with a screw driver like it was nothing. He's in Houston this week ,I'll try to find the name of the bar and where he got it. With all the people here someone could probably make this!
