 Beating out a hook
Anyone ever done this? The previous owner of my boat stored the boat for years with the ass end hanging off the trailer and hooks were subsequently created from the trailer bunks. I'm replacing the flotation in the floor and would rather not shave the flotation to make it fit.
Do you just get the boat onto soft ground and put a piece of wood on the bottom of the boat and sledge hammer it back down?

 Re: Beating out a hook
I put my boat on the ground and beat them out with a dead blow mallet. I also cracked two welds while doing this. And I know this dont make since but I also lost 2-3 mph. So go figure. Good luck.

 Re: Beating out a hook
It's a go devil I'm working on. I ordered the floor foam and was told I could either shave the material to fit the hook or beat down the hooks. Either way, the space under the storage will remain hooked because I won't have access to it.

 Re: Beating out a hook
Well that makes sense. I'm just going to shave the foam

 Re: Beating out a hook
I use the end of a 6x6 timber and a big ass hammer.... Spreads the load out while you beat the hook out and doesn't leave dents.
