I live in Florida, and I'm almost always posting my boat up and setting the blind up in cattails. The vegetation down here doesn't change colors in the winter time unless it's been sprayed with herbicide. A lot of the blind material on the market today is best suited for more northern hunters. Avery Killer Wheat is something that seems like it would work for me, but there are a ton of bad reviews on it. Most of the reviews are that it's too bright and almost a neon green. Causing birds to flare is is not option on my rig, so I'm hoping to get a little insight from those of you who've had hands on with the stuff before I make a purchase/mistake. If anyone has a picture of it on a boat pushed up in some cattails, that would be a huge help. But I'm doubtful I'll get that lucky, so if you have any pictures whatsoever of it, it would be a big help. Any comments and ideas are more than welcome. Thanks. |

Buy natural raffia and dye it to your liking. Not much to it at all |

Isn't the killer weed shit basically just dyed raffia anyways? |

JSTERN has about 20 colors to pick from and I heard if you call them they'll send you a sample of the colors. You have to order a 25 # minimum order I think, but you can mix it up with several different colors. The pics on the website are pretty close but one of the ones I got that looked kinda olive drab on the website was charcoal black. But there are several shades of green, tan, and brown that worked great for me. |

Go with Jstern... Been using them for 4-5 years now. Our marsh doesn't change much either, stays very green. opener.jpg |

2ducks is correct. You can call J Stern up and she will send you samples. They have tons of colors. Lots of tans, browns, winter wheat, and even pink for you limp wristers ![]() |
