Getting ideas going for a spring purchase and looking to have a 48-54 inch bottom one piece hull built. It must be high sided preferably 24", 2x2 longitudinal bracing extending all the way under the deck and spaced for seat bases down the middle, wide open with storage in the bow. I would also consider a hull like Kevin had at MuddiGras 07 with the BB Kohler test engine on it. Suggest a builder. |

I really like my Phowler hull. It is a 1848 tapered hull with a pointed bow which makes it 19' 2" total length. I had Paul build mine with 24" sides and with the big wide gunnel they use that effectively made my sides 25" total which was even better for me. I opted for flotation but you can have one built without it and go for storage up front. I did get a large gun box that I mounted with big rivnuts so it is easily removed to make the interior wide open. I don't know if my bracing is the way you described but I am sure they would do it. They did Willett's bracing the way he requested. This hull handles well and is super stable when hunting 3 or 4 people with the avery blind up. |

Unless you want a 3/16 bottom and 1/8 sides all of Brothas boats are one piece. Brother will build you a fine boat for a fair price. |

Hard to tell without running them all side by side but my Phowler has been a great hull. |

Well with the reviews of Brothers boats, I think I may go that route this time. OD's rig is basically what I'm looking to get less the side boxes and in .125. Is he using 5086?? hyper23 it won't happen until after Jan, but I'll let ya know. |

Go Devil. I'd reccomend you talking to Mr. Coco and get you a GDSD 18' boat, disccuss with him what options you want. I ran the GD 18X44 for three seasons, but moved to the 16x60 GDSD boat now. I would certainly like higher sides than the 18" sides that are on my current boat, and it would be nice to get 24" sides for crossing big water. When I get my next boat to have 24" sides, 21" transom, and it will need to be either a 18' or a 20' boat. There are so many great boats out there on MM.com and you would do well to look at as many as you can, and test ride a number and then get one based on what you have learned along your experiences. |

the pd boat with the shallow v-bottom like the boat kevin runs now is a fine boat, especially for big water. i'd buy one if i ran big water. |
