or can you use any jon boat? A guy told me I would have to have the pods/split seat or I couldn't get the prop all the way out of the water. Help me out. Thanks!

i had a 1544 Wledcraft with a 27 gdlt on it with a full back seat with no problem at all. My prop would come all the way out the water and the handle would rest on the seat.

I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't affect the mobility of the motor.

might need a diff handle but it can be done. I had a 20hp GDLT on a 542 war eagle and it worked fine once I put the duck boat handle on it

mine works fine with a 23 gdlt on a 1544 jon. I had a very old 9 gdlt on the same boat and i had to modify the handle but if its a newer lt then you should be fine

I had a 15'44" Alumnacraft and put my 25GDLT on it and it wouldn't even tilt far enough down to start so I had to cut the back seat all the way out and I put a seat base in the floor with a seat on it to operate it. I was going to cut the center out but the motor needed to move more than just in the center. Hope this helps you any.

Thanks DU, I guess it all depends on the placement of the back seat and the handle on the motor. I've heard it works, and then it doesn't work. Thanks for the input!
