 Turf on the super cheap
Bought the packs of "puzzle" foam pads from Harbor Freight. Took 3 packs of 4 pieces (I think they are 25"x25" per piece) for my boat. They are $7 per pack and I used a can of 3M 77 adhesive ($12) to adhere it. Went out on the lake with the dog yesterday and it was pretty nice. We will see how long it holds up.

Good luck and it won't hold up. You'd have been better off saving for the real stuff. But to each their own.

Re: Turf on the super cheap
I put the Sears stuff in mine and I can tell that it isn't as nice as the real thing. But, I did the entire boat for 50 bucks.
I could redo it every two years for sixteen years before it cost me the same as hydroturf once.

It rips easier but is softer. It's also doesn't turn to dust that gets in your eyes when running

I would have just cut off the puzzle ends for a cleaner look but I'm just crazy like that. Glad it's working for you.

Re: Turf on the super cheap
Dog tired - I'm in Wake Forest, NC.
BayouState Hunter - I had the same thought after I glued it... the glue grabbed real well which made the puzzle pieces kinda lock together funny.
So I realize this stuff may not be the best but I'm trying to keep this boat alive for another season or so. I want to build a boat eventually so I'm not trying to pour too many funds into this craft.
