So I am a new proud owner of a 35gtr on an 18' Wingmaster prototype, which is a flats bottom skiff built for a duck boat (see attached). I am new to mud motors, not boats. First question...I had the boat out this weekend in shallow water with a muddy sandy bottom. I found it hard to get going. Just seemed to me I was just churning up the bottom. Looking for tips and techniques for a newbie. Thanks in advance. Longbuck |

You have a 4 stroke lawnmower motor now so you're not going to punch out like an outboard. Keep your prop out of the sand as much as possible or it will disappear. Trim up some and try it again also try turning when you nail it. Nice looking rig! |
