 Painting Galv.
I have a galvanized 35 GDSD. I'd like to paint it but not sure how to prep it. Any suggestions? Of course I'll be using spray paint.

 Re: Painting Galv.
Painted three GDs - all held paint well....
Used the GD spray paint - it is excellent paint - scrubbed down with pure water and green scouring pad then sprayed liberally with plain white vinegar - let dry then paint thin first coat and about an hour later a thicker second coat.... In a few days added camo accent paint...

 Re: Painting Galv.
From a guy that used to be in the Galvanizing business,
either way will work. The vinegar is old school. With the vinegar, if I remember, you are supposed to rinse after a half hour or so and then let dry. Paint as soon as completly dry because the zinc starts to "oxidize" just like you paint immediately after a sand blast before steel starts to rust again.
