right now i've got an 8'x4' piece of plywood as a floor in my 1648. its got horizontal stringers. what gauge aluminum would i use, and about how much does a sheet that size weigh. is it worth the cost for the weight difference? im running a 27 kohler LT. |

It wouldn't make that much of a difference from 1/2in plywood to 1/8in aluminum in a 4x8 piece. But having it seal welded where nothing could get under the floor may make a difference. I had a ton of mud and junk under my floor when I pulled up my plywood. |

Replaced my wood floor with a 6x4 1/8 alum I got at a scrap yard for $100. Put foam on side wall opening to prevent stuff from falling under. So far so good, not the prettiest but it works and it's better than having the seat bases tear out of the wood floor ![]() |
