Deck abd Catwalk Below or Even with the Gunnel
I'm thinking about making no my catwalks and deck even with the gunnel like on the Gator Trax flats boats instead of below like most other boats. I'm wondering people runing the flush decks like them or dislike them, it seems like stuff could roll off easily with the flush and that you have a stronger weld with them a little below the gunnel.

I prefer below. If dropped or kicked too many things into the water in my life to want to make that chance higher. If done right, I doubt the welding is any weaker, but still wouldn't be my preference.

It looks cleaner even but it's a lot easier to do them about 3/4 below the gunnel. And like Russ said you don't have stuff rolling off strait in the water.

That's kinda what I'm thinking. What makes them so much harder to install?

Flush has a clean look but I am not sure what the advantage really is. I say set it below

OK that's what i was wondering thanks, I was tacking my rake and bumper in place and need to make this decision so I'll know where to put my bracing for my deck.
