Average hull - 500 lbs and average motor - 300 lbs - 3 guys and gear 1000 lbs

So you need to displace 2000 to 2500 lbs of water @ 8 lbs to a gallon = 300 gallons

Answer --- A Lot ! ! ! Weight of good floatation under 50lbs when in good condition ! ! !

But if you buy a USCG approved hull from a reputable manufacturer - it will be there ! ! !

A very rough estimate comes in at about 21 cubic feet of foam floatation in my 2066, that is USCG rated. The floatation consists of layers of pink foam boards. The stuff weighs next to nothing, but it takes up some real-estate.
