Anybody have any pictures of their boat blind, specifically a beavertail blind, with raffia grass or some other semi permanent material? It looks like I might be hunting from the boat more often this year and would like to cut down on brushing the blind every time I go out. |

really good boat blinds - but you got to grass them, you have to extend the travel cover straps to accomidate the grass. The travel cover is really a must WP_20141011_003.jpg WP_20141108_003.jpg this is what I did to fit it to a boat with cat walks WP_20141010_002.jpg |

baron thats something else i was curious about. it looks like you went pretty heavy on the grass. does all that still fit in the travel cover? |

the BT blinds don't "flap" in the wind as much, hardly none, as opossed to the Avery QS I had - I really like it, when you flip that bugger open and sit down out of the wind it is really nice on cold days. it is easy to flip back closed to go pick up dead birds or tend dekes also |

yeah ive used quite a few different styles of blinds and BT is definitely the best as far as ease of setup and being comfortable. i doesnt get near as cold in TX as it does in MN but you're right. on a cold windy day its significantly warmer inside the blind with the way in blocks the wind. throw a small heater in there and you can get it to tshirt temps. the only bad thing i would have to say about the BT blinds are that it takes a lot of work to get one brushed up properly in the field but this should solve my problem. |

I don't remember what the colors where called. If you call www.jstern.com they will send you a card with all the sample colors on it. |

You can die the grass yourself to get the color right. RIT die for clothes. Mix it up in a 5 gallon bucket and let it soak overnight. |

I didn't have any trouble with kick ups last year - hit a couple muskrat adobes motor clears blind no sweat; even when I push tiller down to lift prop to clear stuff (logs rocks ect) doesn't touch blind - now you cannot drive (my) boat with blind up - you can but it's a bitch |

This is the beaver tail with the added roof, it goes on and comes off easy. I did not notice the silver bar in the background till after I took the pic, it's painted now! |

Does that top fold up with the blind or do you have to remove the top before you flip the blind over Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

here is a picture of how we extended the cover straps - if you burn holes in your straps/blind use a soldering iron makes nice neat little self sealing holes in vinyl material. Another thing is the cross brace bolts rusted solid in mine, due to road clearing chemicals during trailering (steel/aluminum metallurgy) note tape covering bolt - might want to add some anti sieze to them ducks.jpg |

So is the top folded up in there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Post subject: | Re: beavertail boat blind pics |
I don't have a "top" just the blind & grass - so the blind is folded up and stored for trailering |

The previous owner sewed additional strapping where it is lacking. I have so much raffia on mine, I ended up clipping two travel boots together. Bungee cords on the front to keep the wind from blowing through it is a must! |
