Man, what i'd do is just bring it to someone who can weld aluminum and have them run a bead over those back two "boxes" that are riveted to the transom. They seem like they would do a pretty good job on supporting it.

well that sounds like a good idea. im guessing its already pretty strong it is rated for a 25. was planing on making one of those boxes into a storage hatch also. does that sound ok

That would take away some of the strength of the box i think, especially since i'm sure its only a two-sided box. its probably just the top piece, and inside piece riveted to the transom and then riveted to the actual hull. Seems like you'd be better off just keeping a dry box in the boat or something along those lines. You might even have the guy run a bead on the sides that meet the hull and floor of the boat too. But thats just what i would do. I've always been a fan of the welded advantage versus rivets.

i've got the 23 mini. love it to death man! Great for the public lands and refuges that have the engine restriction, and its 100lbs less than the other MM's cause of the frame design. I had to rig a transom reinforcer for my boat when i upgraded to a MM, but i had a little more space to work w/. My buddy just got a GT 1846 w/ a GT35 so its nice to have when we have a long haul. I'm turning my boat into a "gator hide" tomorrow afternoon, so that'll cut my speed way down, but ya gotta sacrifice sometimes for whatcha need, ya know?

My boat is all kinds of stable man. I'm on my 3rd boat now, and i am extremely happy w/ it. The wider the better though, for speed and stability. my first was a 38" bottom, second was a 36", and i've got a 42 now. Only reason i want a mud boat is cause of the ribs, dont like having them when it comes time to push that B-I off the grass or mud. Plus the open floor plan is nice to have.

i can run 22ish in deep, 23.5ish in shallow w/ a full tank of gas, my buddy in the very front, and a 40lbs dog. 25-27 though by myself w/ the gas tank in the front, and a couple of cynder blocks

the blocks are there to keep me from porpoising, ha, she'll do it in a heartbeat if you dont have it trimed all the way down and got some weight in the front. And yea, i am putting the new clutch on mine instead of getting the exhaust and carb, but i def think it would help out, especially with a load. Cant wait till the $ is in my wallet for the exhaust then maybe the carb.

Should be a pretty hot running little engine. I'm still all stock. I've been running MM's for 6 years, and finally got my hands on an SD, so i'm happy as can be for now, ha. Really wanting a clutch though, i think it'll make things alot more comfortable, especially when picking up the dekes and stuff like that
