i have a alum vhull with a 55 merc on the back..problem im having is running skinny since the motor is a long shaft. i mainly fish. how would a mud motor run on a vhull 16'. any help would be much appreciated.

A freind of mine has a v hull with a SD. It runs vey well on top end, but has problems taking off in shallow water.

I ran a short tail mud motor on a 4 degree mod V once. It sucked in the shallow water and I dumped it. Get yourself a dead smooth (no crimps), longitudinally-braced flatbottom and be done with it.
