I'd go to an auto paint supplier and get a marine grade epoxy paint. You gotta pick your own color, tho.

Yeah, nobody is gonna "guarantee" the paint simply because of the water. Just make sure if the boat is raw new metal that you clean it real good with vinegar. Sounds crazy, but the vinegar will extract the oily coating on the metal. Plus, make sure you scuff the crap outta it before you prime it. A "Scotch Brite" pad on an orbital sander works good. Whatever, you go with, just make damn sure that it's fully cured before you put her back in the water. If it's not, I feel for ya. Good luck with it. Show us how it turns out.

I had some good luck with Duralux. clean it with alumabrite, and spray it on. no primer needed.

I acid washed today with alumabrite. I have a gallon of epoxy primer and a gallon of flat industrial paint to go over the primer. Will be painting tomorrow. Got my fingers crossed. Hope it comes out good. Got a lot of $$$ tied up in paint.

Krylon from Wal-mart. Repaint as it flakes off, gets better with each application. :D

I just painted my boat with Sherwin-Williams KEM-400. I know of three custom duck boat builders that use this specific paint. There are probably many more that also use it. The stuff is tough as nails.

You must get it from a Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings store, not your typical neighborhood S-W location. And make sure that they flat the sheen down. Out of the can, KEM-400 is actually quite glossy. I had the store that mixed my paint flat it down to a 2-5% sheen. No problem for them to do it but you have to ask.

If I want to apply frog spit to the bottom,do I need a special primer or can I just use alumabrite and scuff it with scuff pads? Can you apply 2 coats of frog spit or is one better? :?
