Ordered my first mud motor - a 25efi Prodrive /w reverse. It should be here this week. On my transom there is currently a square of plywood - it appears it's riveted in. Should this be removed to mount my motor? |

First impression would be no - don't remove it. Did you install the wood? It might be there to help strengthen it up for reasons unbeknownst to you. If might be a good idea to remove it and beef it up correctly. Pull it off and have a look. Get more photos. You can always put it back. |

get rid of the wood and get a welder to beef up the transom and put braces on the corners. u will break that transom, just a matter of time. |

Take it out and put some aluminum there. The wood holds water that will end up rotting the aluminum eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah...ive rebuilt a wood transom and it sucks. Better to just do it right the first time if possible. |
