Post is it worth switching to a SD?
I have a weldbilt 1856 .100 open hull with a 35 swomp 18" transom 24" sides, thinking of going to a SD as I make longer runs than I used to. Is it worth putting a SD on this hull? I run mainly rivers and some marshes--thanks!

SD would be a bit heavier - a bit faster - and a bit easier to drive on long runs...

You might loose a bit of performance in certain conditions where the LT plows
thru concrete - LOL You might gain a bit of performance on plane over hard
bottom...

Overall just a user preference....

I've had a couple of both models and prefer my SD over my LT's. Faster, more comfortable to steer on long runs, gets on step much quicker with a heavy load etc.. I do miss my LT for getting through some obstacles but the Pros of the SD far out weight the cons. If I ever go back to a LT it will be a purpose LT on a smaller narrow marsh only boat like a 9 or 10 hp crawdad model LT.

I've owned 2 LT and 1 SD now and prefer the SD. Easier to handle and faster.
