My boat was taking a beating on some rocks in the river I run so I had to figure out a way to increase the hull protection. I did a bunch of research and figured id trust in how the guys with jet boats protect their hull since they primarily run shallow rocky rivers. I added a 3/16" polyurea topcoat for impact resistance. It was sprayed on smooth. I also ordered Gator Glide to put on over the poly so the rocks don't "bite" it and gives added slickness. The added weight (approx. 120lbs of material) should be negated by the slickness when it comes to speed of the boat and now I have a much more impact resistant hull! Only time will tell if this holds up or not. Fingers crossed that I didn't waste a bunch of money on this. .. |

You have just sent whatever you spent to me.... probably did about as much good lol... Seriously though, I'm sure that's not a cheap process. I would have put it towards a hull built for what you're doing. That things seen better days for sure. |

I don't travel far over water to hunt so I don't need to go fast. This was a wayyyy cheaper alternative to buying a new hull. The river is treacherous and would likely F up a new hull anyways. Frog said it will stick to the coating. |

impact resistance improved substantially. took it over the same water that was giving me trouble with no issue. However the GG didn't adhere to the liner as expected. I spoke with frog and we are working on a solution. I basically have to run my current application off and then re-apply with a few more prep steps. overall pleased with the direction its going and will be happy when its complete. |
