im goint to be getting a gtb this summer and i was just going to get yalls input ..... i will be using it to hunt out of on the ohio river and the scioto river and the bottoms when the river floods so i was thinking about getting.. GTB 17x60 with dropdeck and 35GTR think thats a good combo for the amout of ppl that hunt with me.....plus do the GTB have coast guard approved floation in them??? and if not do you know if they will install it for you???? in the state of ohio they wont register a boat if it dont have the floation ![]() |

As far as I know the floatation that they can put in is in the form of aluminum boxes in the stern. I don't know if they do anything differant with the drop deck floatation. If you give them a call they can answer all your questions. These are Tulsawoodys pics and he has floatation in his rig just to give you an idea. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=34 |

I can't find any reg that won't let you register a commercial hull on their site, but I believe if you buy a commercial fisherman license you should have no problem registering a commercial hull. Check on it |

Check my rig review, you can find the link in my signature. I have flotation in the rear deck, two rear pods and upfront. |

Also this has come up before...you do know that the drop deck is part of the 17'...you dont get 17' of boat plus the drop deck just thought I would throw that out there so you can factor that in when thinking of the room for the amount of people |

Were you meaning a 17' boat w/ hunt deck would be 16' inside the hull and the extra 1' would roughly be the hunt deck giving you 17' overall length. I must say having the hunt deck keeps the stern clean if your playing in mud but granted when you start dogging it doesn't matter what you have mud is going everywhere ![]() |
