Got the other catwalk framed... hope to have the rest of the front deck framed, and skin the catwalks and front deck with sheet metal tomorrow before I tie the back end up. Happy thus far, like the boats lines and it's very rigid. Only get better with the box strength of the catwalks sheet metal also with the sheet metal on the transom and rear end. More to come soon hopefully

how wide did you make the catwalks, and how much room is there between them?

I tacked the tubing at 8" on the false transom and front deck brace, it stays at 8" about 60 percent of the way then it bumps out a little wider where the bow begins to pull in. As for the dimension between I don't know. I went with 8 because that will be about flush with where the floor meets the side. Be a nice place to sit on as well.

That boat is hell for stout, yah suure, you betcha. I was considering putting pictures of my new 18 X 60 build on here, but it's so flimsy in comparison I'm afraid I would be made fun of. That boat will certainly handle big water on the Mississippi. It should be great on the Rum and Snake also. Good job!

Thank you sir! Post em up! I feel like as many build threads to be seen as possible is a good thing, as it applies to helping others out with builds of their own!

I'd say 4-5... sheet metal PO total weight was 260, plus the bracing, and sheet metal for the catwalks and front deck, as well as transom

Just did the math each brace accounts for roughly 20 pounds... so there's 400 between the sides and bottom, and 7 long braces alone.

I would like to say I'm in also, but I get worried that someone would take me into an area that my thin skinned boat couldn't handle and I would be in trouble. I'm west side in Rockford.

Thanks man!

I believe all the mig welding is complete... aside from bow eyes and grab handles which I have yet to order... now I just get to tig weld... which is always my easiest and favorite part

Here ya go bubba... I used 2x4 .190 wall tubing for the main beams, and then 2x2 at an angle from the vertices to the center floor brace, and then one 2x2 straight across to the 2x2 brace across the back at the false transom. Rock solid and no flex... which is a huge component when you have a 300 pound motor shakin around back there and with bottom impacts and everything else.

Got er flipped over, just need to cut off the excess from the sides on the bow, and tig weld that outside seam and it should be sea worthy. Still need to install a plug, and put the bow eyes on, tie down spots on the rear (which in using weldable bow eyes for as well) and the grab handles... but it's close
