Motor size for 1436 Tracker Topper (Backwater Swomp Lite)
Boat weighs about 125lbs.
I want to get a Backwater Swomp Lite Glider kit and I'm not sure if I should use the Predator 13HP or 22HP motor.
I think the 22HP Predator + Swomp kit will weigh too much for the boat, but I'm not sure.
Any suggestions or experience with a similar setup?
Thanks.

Based on their website, the Swomp 13 is only 7lbs lighter than the 23. Both Vanguards, dunno what your predator weights in comparison.

The dry weight of the Predators:
13hp: 73 lbs 22hp: 106 lbs
The 1436 Tracker Topper is rated for max 15HP motor, not sure if going over that by 7 is ok.

I have a Predator 22 in a GD frame on a welded .100 1548 which weighs 370lbs and it can be a handful at times. I would be more worried that the transom wouldn't hold up to the Longtail's abuse

Those topper lines are super thin, I had a 1436 with a 13hp Honda back in the day. It squatted pretty bad with that motor on it. Ended up going down to a 6.5 mud buddy long tail due to HP restrictions and it actually performed better without the weight. Those toppers suck though, and I was constantly have to get the corner braces rewelded. Not sure if they have used thicker aluminum recently but I bought one brand new around 10 years ago and the thickness was less than .050, I was just running shallow stuff and vegetation, but the sand bars still hooked it nicely. I wish I would have gotten an alweld or weldbilt over that POS. Probably still would have ruined it eventually. The grizzly line is way tougher than the toppers.

Just checked, they are .050, I think they used to be .043 or something crazy.
My miller lite can that I'm holding seems comparable to that.

Yeah it's the transom you're going to have issues with holding up. You may be able to get by for a while but will eventually have to reinforce it yourself or have someone so it. You could probably have a solid transom welded in for $250-$350
