Just bought a prodrive 37efi. I hunt the marshes in Louisiana but make a couple trips to some timber throughout the season, and I also bass fish during the offseason. Trying to get some opinions on the best hull for the motor. I want something with some speed but still handles and fishes well.

You're likely going to see a lot of recommendations for matching it with a Prodrive boat. They are made for each other and will perform best there (unless you went custom). The transom angle and chine setup are important to match up. I have one on an 1848. It runs about 28 solo, 26 with two, 24 with 3, and 16 with 5 and a dog.

I'm plenty comfortable standing an moving around on the front deck (I weight about 240), and there is room for 3 to fish comfortably. I've crappie fished on timber with 2 standing on the front deck (mine is the extended from PD) and it's tight, but doable.

If I ordered a custom I'd probably bump up to a 52 or 54.

1854 is darn near the perfect sized all around hull for most people. I'd go with a pd hull to match the motor if you can find one.

Love my uncle J. They are performers for sure. My Willett custom that 3CK is now running was a performer as well. Lots of good options out there.

I thought you were looking used, but if you are willing to wait, I'd go custom.
