Re: Push Pole Question......
I purchased a push pile foot from Hillside castings (google the) and welded it to a 10' 3/4" aluminum conduit. It is pretty stout and I've been happy with it so far. I don't use it much but it feels stout enough that it should last for a long time.

Re: Push Pole Question......
Anyone has advise on a carbon push pole for sight fishing? I'm looking to replace my heavy ass metal one I use during duck season, just not easy to move quickly when poling for reds.

Re: Push Pole Question......
I saw a flats boat with probably a 20-22' carbon push pole with a very light aluminum foot the other day. It looked like it would be awesome for a sight fishing rig. I didn't pick it up but even being nearly twice as long it didn't weigh what my GoDevil push pole does.

Re: Push Pole Question......
Back in the day, I took 1 1/2 pvc put end caps and a "t" on it, foamed filled it from a can. Light and lasted till now still have it in an old boat of mine, its got to be 30+ yrs old.

Re: Push Pole Question......
Don't remember but being the way I am it was from Walmart and the lowest price they had! I drilled small holes in each end, lay the pvc horizontal across my work bench and filled till it came out the other end. Let it like that for couple a days. It oozed foam out each end for a while making a funnel cake looking pile at each end. I think the foam added stiffness and it would not sink.

Re: Push Pole Question......
It'll be great for a spud. They flex. Rigid spuds suck!!! You want something that's gonna give when the boat moves when that asshole in the bass boat that slows down to just off idle and plows a 4' wake into you... that'll bend an aluminum spud.

Re: Push Pole Question......
I know you said telescoping poles were out, but you should really take a look at a Superstick. It's a telescoping fiberglass pole and they're awesome. I think they have 9' & 18' models. Cabelas & Bass Pro sell them. The owner Brad is super helpful too.
